Adoption of SignOn Once means users need only one set of credentials for all their participating carriers and are protected from unauthorized attacks. The SignOn Once “Trust Framework,” which defines the specifications for SignOn Once, consists of business, legal, and technical rules for participants to follow.
The framework allows SignOn Once participants to make transactions smoother for agents, carriers and solutions providers. ID Federation aims to draw more independent agent carriers to implement SignOn Once to improve efficiency and security for their business partners and themselves.
SignOn Once is a federated identity management solution created exclusively for insurance carriers, independent agents and solutions providers. SignOn Once provides a secure process for a user to authenticate his or her identity with systems of numerous business partners.
Using the SignOn Once solution is free for agencies, but insurance carriers and agency management solution providers must implement it. Independent agents can play a positive role by asking carriers and solution providers for SignOn Once.
Insurance carriers and solutions providers can join ID Federation to get started on SignOn Once implementation. Direct queries about SignOn Once by ID Federation to Irv Kantar, ID Federation business manager, at Irv.Kantar@idfederation.org or 833-SignOn1 (833.744.6661).
